David Banks
Minister of Music
David is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, but calls Alaska home after serving here since 1993. His wife, Alice, is from Tucson, Arizona. They have four children: Sarah, Jonathan, Joshua and Rachel.
David graduated from Mercer University in Atlanta and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
In addition to the local church, David also serves as President on the Board of Directors for Alaska Baptist Family Services. He has also served for several years as the Volunteer State Music Director for the Alaska Baptist Convention.
In describing the ministries he is involved with, David uses two quotes as his favorites in his drive for ministry: First, Martin Luther said "Next to the Word of God, music is the highest form of praise." Then he echoes the Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 4:12, "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity."
